I think of all the differences between Japanese and New Zealand schools, the thing I like most from Japan is 'cleaning time'. It's such a brilliant concept and never ceases to amaze me the fact that it actually works! Obviously it fits in perfectly with the Japanese collective society. What better way to keep a school clean and respected by the students than to make them clean up after themselves.
